Today, Yao Wen is an entrepreneur. The 56-year-old had a stellar career at Siemens - and then broke away from Siemens when things were at their best. After graduating, she caught the eye of computer manufacturer Siemens Nixdorf, which urgently needed help with contacts in China. She didn't stay there long, because Siemens headquarters needed her even more urgently.
Dimitrios Bachadakis glides silently along the bike path. Although e-bikes have become a familiar sight, the 48-year-old's vehicle catches the eye not only because of its eye-catching pattern: With its low center of gravity, stocky design and reinforced luggage rack, it looks made for transporting goods.

In 2004, the Munich-based CIP Group emerged from a management buyout of Siemens AG. Founded as an automotive and industrial supplier for goods and products from Asian countries, the company has developed into a dynamic group. Diverse services in the area of supply chain, micro eMobility and M&A services are the core business today, as CEO Dimitrios Bachadakis tells us.
Which diesel vehicles will still be allowed into the city and when - that will be decided in the next few months. If you don't want to wait that long and want to do something good for the environment at the same time, you can see if your company can make the switch - for example, to an e-bike. We're going to try it out for ourselves.

Admittedly, mocci looks a bit unusual at first glance. The rather robust electric cargo bike does without spokes and chain, and the drive is completely digital. "We are the first to launch a so-called smart pedal vehicle on the market," says Yao Wen (57) proudly, pointing to the black vehicle standing in the conference room.

Rising fuel prices are a major concern for many people around the world. Although we want the situation to improve, this dilemma will not end any time soon. So expect to see more consumers and businesses grappling with the situation. Many people are now feeling the impact with every trip to the gas station. Some commuters began to complain about higher transportation costs. The higher gas prices are, the less money consumers will have to spend. There are several problems to solve, but what most of us can do is find alternative modes of transport to save money. One of the easiest solutions for everyone is simple: a bicycle.

In addition to trains, e-bikes are also environmentally friendly means of transport. Especially those that can be used to transport loads. They are suitable for private users in large cities as well as in rural areas. In addition, special cargo e-bikes are interesting for logistics companies. If the small vehicles are built from lightweight materials with integrated sensors, they offer a particularly high level of safety. The sensors monitor the condition of the components, detect damage immediately and indicate it.

After graduating in communication sciences, sociology and German studies, I started at Siemens with the task of building up purchasing relationships with Chinese suppliers. For the job, I went to Hong Kong in 1992 to set up the International Procurement Offices of Siemens AG in Greater China.
With its so-called Smart Pedal Vehicles (SPV), the Munich-based manufacturer mocci wants to reinvent mobility in urban areas and has now taken an important hurdle towards large-scale production. At its heart is also a new manufacturing and material concept. Thanks to high-performance polyamide instead of steel or aluminum, a new type of production approach can be realized from large-scale production coupled with a completely new software and system architecture.
